Uta Mooney, Australia: ALTERED PAPER COLLAGE

After completing the Certificate IV in Art Practice in 1994, Uta Mooney was accepted to study the Bachelor of Applied Art at the University of South Australia where she graduated with Honours in 2001. More recently, in 2011, she was granted fellowship of the Royal South Australian Society of Arts.

In the last five years Uta has been focussing on collaborative exhibitions with an American author. Uta believes combining the two creative methods adds magical intricacies inviting the audience to a new realm full of ideas to explore and give them a whole exhibition experience.

This workshop is all about experimenting and sharing in a fun, laid back atmosphere. You will learn how to alter magazine pages, newspaper, tissue paper, book pages (just to name a few) to create your own unique “stash” of papers. Layering and manipulating your repurposed papers further with alternative acrylic processes will create rich and individual collages full of texture and depth.

This workshop suits all levels of experience and those interested in experimenting with a range of techniques.
